Welcome

Welcome to Durham City Hockey Club. We are a very established club in our 55th year. The club as a whole is always expanding and improving the standard of hockey throughout the club and at the top level of the club but also continually progressing the junior side of the club.

In 2008 Durham City will be fielding four men's teams and 2 ladies teams. Our ladies teams compete in the Durham Clubs league and aim for promotion to the North League. Three of our men's teams compete in the North East League whereas our flag ship team, men's 1st XI, compete in the North League (North Div 2 East), where they have been since 2005.

The club has the use of fantastic facilities shared with the University of Durham at Maiden Castle (the Graham Sports Centre), with an exceptional water based pitch and a new sand dressed pitch at our disposal along with on site club house and changing facilities the club has all the right ingredients to succeed. Many thanks goes to Pete Warburton for his part in Durham City's association with the centre.

DCHC is a very sociable and friendly club and always welcomes new members of any standard and any age. Why not head down to a training session and meet some new people and try your hand at this fantastic sport in this fantastic club.

--Durham City Ball and Shirt Amnesty--
Can all club members please try and gather together all those balls and shirts that are at the bottom of your stick bags, so we can reduce the number of training balls we will need to buy for next season and be able to redistribute the shirts to the relevant teams. If you do have any club balls please hand them to a captain or bring them to training on Tuesday nights.
