		Welcome to Durham City Hockey Club. We are a very established club in our 55th year. The club as a whole is always expanding and improving the standard of hockey throughout the club and at the top level of the club but also continually progressing the junior side of the club. In 2008 Durham City will be fielding four men's teams and 2 ladies teams. Our ladies teams compete in the Durham Clubs league and aim for promotion to the North League. Three of our men's teams compete in the North East League whereas our flag ship team, men's 1st XI, compete in the North League (North Div 2 East), where they have been since 2005. The club has the use of fantastic facilities shared with the University of Durham at Maiden Castle (the Graham Sports Centre), with an exceptional water based pitch and a new sand dressed pitch at our disposal along with on site club house and changing facilities the club has all the right ingredients to succeed. Many thanks goes to Pete Warburton for his part in Durham City's association with the centre. DCHC is a very sociable and friendly club and always welcomes new members of any standard and any age. Why not head down to a training session and meet some new people and try your hand at this fantastic sport in this fantastic club.	The Latest News :: Club AGM & Play Day :: :: Held on Sat 16th May :: Play day will commence 2pm (so be there promptly) and run til 4pm The AGM will be held in the bar at 4.15pm with buffet etc. See the Agenda on the committee page There will be an introductory talk about the new rules for the coming season, so don't miss it. :: Kukri Shop :: :: 01-04-09 :: You will be able to order Durham kit through Kukri on 17th April 09, the online store will be open until 17th May 09. Access to the shop is available from the Club Shop link where you can preview the kit available. Happy Shopping! :: End of Season Dinner :: :: 02-02-09 :: The clubs end of season dinner is fast approaching and anyone wishing to attend should get tickets from their respective captains by Saturday 7th February. See social page for details. :: Training Cancelled Due to Frost :: :: 06-01-09 :: Training at Maiden Castle is cancelled again due to the pitches being frozen. Games are still scheduled to go ahead on Saturday but keep an eye here for further info. :: Kukri Kit :: :: 06-01-09 :: If you ordered Durham Kukri Kit in 2008 then your order will be delivered to Miles by 17th January 2009. He will then distribute the items to the relevant captains to hand to you for your enjoyment. Apologies for the delay on your orders. :: 2nd Half of the Season :: :: 04-01-09 :: Training starts again on Tuesday 6th January. See the training page for times. See you all there to work off that christmas turkey. :: Xmas Meal :: Durham City HC are off for the annual Xmas meal and social gathering.....See social page for further details. :: Kukri Shop Info :: Those of you who ordered in the previous window will unfortunately have to wait for your stash to come through as the order wasn't processed by Kukri. You will however get a free pair of socks for the inconvenience and if you ordered socks in the first place you will be refunded for the cost. For all you wanting to order, the shop is NOW OPEN. Your order will be processed in 2 weeks and your stash delivered in January along with the previous order. Happy Shopping!! :: Durham City Ball and Shirt Amnesty :: Can all club members please try and gather together all those balls and shirts that are at the bottom of your stick bags, so we can reduce the number of training balls we will need to buy for next season and be able to redistribute the shirts to the relevant teams. If you do have any club balls please hand them to a captain or bring them to training on Tuesday nights. Thank You, the Committee
